Re. Prob w/Evang...

Double Down Mike,

Why is that? What's to be done?

I would say we don't trust the Bible, because that means we are not in control. Instead of being able to organize program x that will produce y results. It requires trusting God's promises that His Word will not go forth that it will come back void. However we don't know what those results are, so we cannot plan for them. God is building His kingdom, not necessarily the one we want Him to build. We want a "circumstantial messiah." That is a messiah who will fix all the problems we perceive, not necessarily the one's God sees and desires to address. So we come up with schemes to accomplish this or that aim hoping God will bless these endeavors, but never try the very thing God has told us He will bless, faithful proclamation of His Word.
