When Seeing Replaces Believing

by Thabiti Anyabwile

Mark, good food for thought.

I think we are made to see and that seeing communicates some level of intimacy.  Your post reminds me of the passages of Scripture that speak to us of that momentous day when our faith shall become sight, to quote the hymn.  Psalm 17:15 and 1 John 3 come to mind.  I love those passages.

Randy Alcorn in Money, Possessions and Eternity quotes hymn writer Fanny Crosby that captures the anticipation of that day well.   She said, "Don't pity me for my blindness, for the first face I ever see will be the face of my Lord Jesus."

No visual aids will ever capture the glory of that moment when our eyes burst open, and in floods the glory of the Son of God, and forever we gaze into His beauty.

Lord haste the day!
