Venezuela 2--a time zone for my very own
So I've been more about this starting my own time zone thing, like Chavez (see last post). I think I will. I will call my own time zone JST--Jonathan's Standard time. It will be 5 hours and 15 minutes behind Greenwich Standard time.
That means if you (my East Coast friends) schedule something for "3," and I show up at "3:15," I've really come at 3.
It also means that if I tell you to come to my house at 12, and you come at what you think is 12, you've really come at 11:45, and I might ask you to wait for 15 minutes.
I think my colleague "Josh" (his real name) believes that I already exist in my own time zone. I think HE exists in his own time zone. He's always making me do stuff several months before it's actually due. He calls it "planning ahead." Wierdo. Since being in Venezuela, I've discovered he's just living in his own time zone. Maybe I should call him Chavez. Now, maybe he'll say that I'm Chavez. But that's not true, because I don't impose my time zone on him and make him do stuff several months late. Maybe I should.
You live in your time zone, Josh Chavez, and I'll live in mine, okay?
